CRSF 2022 has ended, and what a success this event was! Our first hybrid event, with online and in-person panels, workshops, keynotes and guest roundtables. We are excited to announce that CRSF 2023 will be held on the 29th and 30th June 2023!
First held in 2011, CRSF is an annual conference hosted by the University of Liverpool designed to promote the research of speculative fictions, media and technologies (including but not limited to science fiction, fantasy and horror).
CRSF 2022 had the theme of ‘Communication’, and we heard fascinating keynotes from Dr Jalondra A. Davis and Dr. Christy Tidwell on our online platform. We hosted an in-person Workshop from Dr Phoenix Alexander and were delighted to welcome two author rountables on Zoom. ‘Talking Animals,’ with Adam Roberts, Adrian Tchaikovsky, Gareth L. Powell and Laura jean Mckay, as well as ‘Communicating Otherness,’ with Sue Burke, Chana Porter, Aliya Whitely and Vandana Singh.
CRSF 2023 will span across two days and aims to shine the spotlight on the research of postgraduates and early career researchers working at the interdisciplinary boundaries of speculative fictions, theories and cultures. Our next conference theme and call for papers (CFP) will be released late 2022 or early 2023, so keep your eyes on our website and socials.
